Abstract

This paper describes the impact of socio-economic factors on girls and women's access to Information and Communication Technology (ICT) education and training in a rural South African environment and recommends strategies for improved access to ICT education and training. The study was undertaken through a case study conducted in the Moutse village in the Elandsdoorn area of Mpumalanga province, South Africa. © 2009 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
