Abstract

The article focuses on the emergence of citation management software and addresses the role of academic librarians in making software available and easy to use for students and scholars. The author examines the features of several citation management software programs, including RefWorks from RefWorks-COS and Proquest, EndNote X4 from Thomson Reuters, and Zotero, a free research tool available on the Firefox web browser, and offers information on the best practices for the support and instruction of the programs.
