This short work is a prose dialogue between a knight of the Order of Hospitalers of Saint John and a Genoese sea captain — who supposedly sailed with Christopher Columbus — concerning the society of the City of the Sun, a utopian state on an island that the captain has recently visited. The Hospitaler merely asks questions and does not comment on the captain’s remarks.
