Abstract

A computer-aided method of chorological analysis is described, and is applied to the Gramineae of west tropical Africa. The distribution of the family conforms to the known phytogeographic zones of west Africa. A chorological classification of the species into a hierarchy of Region, Domain and Endemic Centre is illustrated by maps.
