Abstract

Our aim is to demonstrate the way in which the FrameNet database has the potential to support, accelerate and enrich traditional lexicography. We do this by discussing several of the most difficult and time-consuming tasks of the corpus lexicographer (sense differentiation, establishing the combinatory properties of the keyword, selecting from the mass of detail the facts appropriate to the entry being written) in the light of case studies drawn from corpus data. © 2003 Oxford University Press.
