Abstract

Although money plays a key role in modern economies, an increasing amount of business is being done without the use of money. This article sheds light on the important roles of cashless deals and identifies the factors fueling their growing importance. It provides guidelines for negotiating moneyless marketplace exchanges in key domains, including crowdsourcing, promotions, and word of mouth. © 2013 The Regents of the University of California.
