Abstract

An efficient nuclear monobromination of phenols and anilines has been achieved by treatment with NBS in the presence of a catalytic amount of NH4OAc at room temperature. The method is rapid, regioselective and high-yielding. © 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
