Abstract

This analysis assessed changes in pain intensity, subjective health status and psychological well-being among 237 patients (50% women) with chronic low back pain who were admitted to a rehabilitation clinic in Southern Bavaria. The findings show for both men and women a significant improvement of pain and health-related quality of life during the 6-month follow-up period. The results indicate gender-specific predictors of changes, which should be taken into account at the start of rehabilitation. © Georg Thieme Verlag KG Stuttgart · New York.
