Abstract

Based on type-examination, Rhantus regimbarti JAKOWLEW, 1896, and R. chinensis FALKENSTROM, 1936, are considered junior subjective synonyms of R. suturalis (MACLEAY); populations so far treated as R. frontalis (MARSHAM) proved to involve no less than three species, R. frontalis in Europe and Siberia, R. vermiculatus MOTSCHULSKY, 1860 (stat. n.) in Siberia, China and Mongolia and R. sericans SHARP, 1882 (stat. n.) in North America. New data on these species distribution are provided. Also, notes on R. rufus ZIMMERMANN, 1922, are given.
