Abstract

Primary generalized glucocorticoid resistance (PGGR) or Chrousos syndrome is a rare endocrinologic condition, which is characterized by partial tissue insensitivity to glucocorticoids. The molecular basis of this condition has been attributed to genetic defects in the NR3C1 gene encoding the human glucocorticoid receptor (hGR). In this chapter, the reader will get familiar with the clinical manifestations, endocrinologic evaluation, differential diagnosis, and therapeutic management of this syndrome.
