Abstract

In this article the author discusses the Internet company Google and examines the ethical practices of its services. It provides comments from former Google chief executive officer (CEO) Eric Schmidt regarding Internet regulation, argues that Google's efforts to digitize millions of books did not take into consideration ways in which the project would harm libraries, and presents a discussion of the differences between market and public failure.
