This USAID report synthesizes presentations made in February 2002 at USAID by four individuals with long-term experience in HIV prevention in Africa and provides statistical data relating to a variety of interventions that have resulted in a decline in incidence and prevalence of HIV, paying particular attention to population based and gender based surveys. Commenting on HIV/AIDS prevention programs in Uganda, the presentations include names of religious leaders and faith-based organizations involved in this region. The data points to faith-based activities as one of the key contributing elements to the decline in the incidence and prevalence of HIV/AIDS
