Abstract

Another monday morning arrives. You quickly make a list of the things you have to do today. The list includes buying a gift for your nephew and having it delivered, checking on airline reservations for a trip the following month, and making a change in your 401k deductions. You want to get the latest novel by Tom Clancy. You need to scan your checking account balance and transfer funds from savings to cover a check you will write today. You want to check the latest stock quotes for your held securities portfolio. You need to send a note to your brother who lives in an adjoining state regarding the upcoming family reunion. If you have access to the Internet and World Wide Web, all of these tasks can be accomplished from the comfort of your home in a fraction of the time it would require otherwise.
