Abstract

We analyze profiles and associated comments on socialnetwork sites following the death of the user to suggest twonovel approaches to death and computing. Using the deadas examples of extreme users, we developrecommendations for design of Web2.0 applications thatconsider the importance of intersubjectivity in onlineidentity construction and management, and the ubiquity oftechnospiritual practices.
