This work is a preliminary report on a larger research project, which focuses on the application of action research as a tool for teacher training at the Colegio Montessori Tepuente in Cuernavaca, Morelos. The goal is to develop a proposal for values education for the school community. The study reviews the theoretical underpinnings of the project and evaluates the use of action research as a method for continuous teacher training. The study also looks at the development of this research in the school and the benefits and difficulties of implementing it there. The central contribution of this research is a descriptive model of guidance and development achieved by teachers through a values program at all levels of the school.
