Abstract
Supply-chain professionals working in Sub-Saharan Africa know that their jobs are more demanding than the average occupation. Geography, climate, distance and politics create formidable obstacles to serving the markets of a region com- prising nearly 800 million people. Although technology is providing innovative solutions, most local supply-chain challenges can still be solved by dedicated people applying practical solutionsand a healthy dose of ingenuity.
