Abstract

A trial was made to evaluate skin safety of Atorrege® cosmetic series, which were intended to be hypoirritant and hypoallergic. We conducted a 48hrs closed patch testing with 7 materials (Atorrege® face wash, skin treatment, face moist, barrier veil, cool lotion, hair shampoo, hair rinse) on 55 patients with skin disease. The subjects were composed of 22 cases of atopic dermatitis, 31 cases of contact dermatitis and 2 cases of rosacea-like dermatitis. The skin irritation index of the whole materials ranged from 0 to 9.1, and the highest was 9.1 of hair shampoo. All of them were judged to be a safety product. In atopic dermatitis group (22 patients), the skin irritation index of the whole materials was less than 5. Thus Atorrege® cosmetic series were concluded to be hypoirritant products.
