Biostratigraphic syntheses cover two contributions on the Spanish Miocene, the discovery of a rodent fauna of Asian affinity in Germany and a review of the dynamics of Old World biogeographic realms. Palaeoecology includes two contributions on mammal taphonomy and papers on the relationship between paleoclimatology and biostratigraphy and a detailed palaeoecological case study from the Miocene of Turkey. Information on the Neogene mammals from outside Europe is provided by papers on the Siwaliks (2) of Pakistan, China and its correlation with Europe, Africa and its links with Europe and a comparison of North America and Europe.
