Abstract

The article examines the ways New Zealanders present themselves to the world. According to New Zealander Rob Wishnowsky, who works for California-based Cruxio, New Zealanders are very understated, as opposed to Americans who usually overstate their cases. He reveals that this lack of assertiveness sometimes hurt New Zealand businesses pitching their services or products in the U.S. He adds that being self-effacing may harm New Zealand companies' chances of competing or expanding in the U.S.
