Anesthesia or anaesthesia means the condition of having no sensation especially for purpose of operations or other painful procedures. Anesthesiology is the art and science involved in inducing such a condition either through sensation block or temporary unconsciousness. It is said to have four components of amnesia, analgesia, loss of autononomic response to pain and muscle relaxation.
