The scientific-technical disciplines of photogrammetry and remote sensing focus on obtaining information about distant objects and processes from sensors that are not in contact with the objects, and by subsequent analysis of the acquired data. While photogrammetry concentrates on reconstructing the geometric form of objects, remote sensing puts emphasis on the retrieval of physical object properties.
