I am conducting a Master’s thesis research project at the University of the Western Cape, South Africa.
I am assembling a Panel of Experts to give comment and assessment on a proposed adaptation of the European Competence Framework’s (eCF 2.0) specifically to the utilisation of Social Online Simulation Games in Leadership Development.
In my research I have identified your Mendeley group as a source of potential Expert Panel respondents and would highly appreciate your assistance with this study.

For more than four decades,Simulation & Gaming (S&G): An International Journal of Theory, Practice and Research has served as a leading international forum for the exploration and development of simulation/gaming methodologies used in education, training, consultation, and research. Published bi-monthly, S&G appraises academic and applied issues in the expanding fields of simulation; computer and internet mediated simulation, virtual reality, educational games, video games, industrial simulators, active and experiential learning, case studies, and related methodologies.
Not sure if this would be considered a "top" video game research journal, but I found a SAGE journal - Simulation and Gaming.
Starting this year (Jan. 2011), North Carolina is now providing tax incentives for game companies and other businesses developing interactive and digital media. Mary Luong I know of a bunch of computer science journals that accept game research. Anyone interested in those titles?

David Sharek I am. But what I'm really interested in is what journals are regarded as the "movers and shakers" for game research. In other words, are there any 'A' journals for game research?

Mary Luong You might try doing an article search on the big names in the game research field and see where they are publishing. Names like, Jenova Chen. Or any of the panelists/judges/advisory board at the game conferences (e.g., Game Developers Conference - www.gdconf.com)

I just did a complete search of Thomson Reuters JCR site for 2010 and didn't find S&G. Curious.
But the impact is "unkown"...
