Biographical Information

Aleksejs Tarasovs is a PhD student and works on a project "Emovere: An Investigation into using Machine Learning for the Automatic Recognition of Emotion in Speech" funded by Science Foundation Ireland.

His Master's thesis was "Intelligent systems for aircraft techniques' diagnostics" and it was defended with a mark of 10/10. This investigation started in 2004, and 10 scientific publications came as a result. Aleksejs also participated in 6 international conferences and was a speaker in 3 of them.

Just after receiving B.Sc. degree he was invited to work as assistant lecturer in TTI. He had been delivering 6 courses including all courses devoted to machine learning and artificial intelligence that exist in the study programs of this institute.

Aleksejs also has experience in IT — he was employed as a programmer, editor of IT-newspaper and technical trainer. He possesses Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist, Sun Certified Java Developer, ISTQB Foundation, CompTIA Project+ Certified Specialist and CompTIA Certified Technical Trainer credentials. He also holds IELTS Academic certificate with a band score of 8.0.
