Biographical Information

I've always been interested in anthropology and cultural studies and have travelled extensively in Central and South America. After graduating from Durham, I worked in community development with a local Gypsy community, but became complete disillusioned with the voluntary sector. I changed track entirely, and started working as a chef, running a small cafe specialising in Latin American food. I became very interested in coffee and the coffee industry, and trained as a Barista, which eventually led to my PhD project about quality and waste in the speciality coffee industry
