Biographical Information
I am an astronomer at the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory in Cambridge, MA, where I am employed by the US Virtual Astronomical Observatory. My work includes investigating the practices of data publishing and citation in astronomy, supporting researcher's use and reuse of the astronomy's extensive digital archives through social user groups and documentation, and studying the birth and early evolution of stars in our local Galaxy. My collaborators include Alyssa Goodman (Harvard), Jonathan Fay (Worldwide Telescope team @ Microsoft Research), Alberto Pepe (Harvard), Chris Erdmann (Wolbach Library), and the Smithsonian-NASA ADS team.
I use Mendeley for my own reference collection and as a possible tool for supporting data publication, citation and reuse.
