Biographical Information
Bob L. Sturm received the B.A. degree in physics from University of Colorado, Boulder in 1998, the M.A. degree in Music, Science, and Technology, at Stanford University, in 1999, the M.S. degree in multimedia engineering in the Media Arts and Technology program at University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), in 2004, and finally the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering at UCSB, in 2007 and 2009, respectively. Dr. Sturm specializes in signal processing, sparse approximation, and their applications to audio and music. During 2009, Dr. Sturm was a Chateaubriand Post-doctoral Fellow at the Institut Jean Le Rond d'Alembert, Equipe Lutheries, Acoustique, Musique (LAM), at Université Pierre et Marie Curie, UPMC Paris 6. In January 2010, Dr. Sturm became an Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture, Design, and Media Technology at Aalborg University Copenhagen.
