Biographical Information

Ambitious and determined individual with a strong academic background which has formed the foundation for a successful start to my career in Marketing. Currently undertaking a PhD; having gained a distinction for a Masters Degree in Marketing. A key achievement has been the acceptance of my working paper for the Academy of Marketing Branding Special Interest Group Conference, Oxford and Liverpool Conference, Academy of Marketing, Marketing Fields Forever in 2011. Currently I am working with small businesses as a freelancer to great effect, enhancing their brand and carrying out extensive market research leading to improved business performance. Sarikas Hair Lounge/ Freelancing - January 2011 – Present

Key duties included, developing a brand name, positioning of the brand image, selecting suitable colour schemes which will run through all promotions, advertising materials, website, and uniforms and within the salon to keep consistency. Developed a customer database to maintain consistent communications with clients and also to assist with direct marketing. Currently implementing a loyalty card scheme to increase customer retention. The launch of Sarikas Hair Lounge, took place on February 7th 2011, inviting existing and potential new clients to visit the hair lounge, receive discount coupons on treatments and to speak to stylists.

Divine Indian Restaurant/Freelancing - May 2010 – Present

The key objective was to increase business sales, which I developed new promotional activities which have subsequently lead to an increase in business activity Sunday- Thursday. Promotional activities are regularly communicated through local newspapers, local shops advertising and advertising within the restaurant. Future plans include a redesign of menus, and takeaway menus, whilst also developing comment cards to gain access to customer personal information. This will lead to a communications strategy involving direct marketing.

Malabar Indian Restaurant/Freelancing - February 2010 –Present

Key responsibilities currently include the implementation of a communications strategy which involved the use of social networks to promote the restaurant. Developed networks with the Gourmet Society, McCoy’s crisps to promote current offers. Played an integral role in the refurbishment of the restaurant to ensure that it was consistent with the brand we had created. Organised a highly successful charity event, for Katherine House Hospice which raised a total of £2498 as well as creating positive publicity for the restaurant.

Advanced Body Sculpture/Freelancing - May 2010 – Present

Main responsibilities include analysing the external environment, selecting target audiences and channels to distribute posters, flyers. As a result the business now works under the Pure Gym umbrella still operating with the ABS brand name, gaining access to a wider network of clients. Four different pricing plan options were established, targeting all audiences with different levels of disposable income. Other duties included targeting recreation centres, schools, colleges, universities and sport outlets for advertising purposes. The use of social networking sites were also implemented to gain maximum exposure. A website is designed to inform, educate and communicate with existing and potential clients, www.advancedbodysculpture.co.uk, whilst also providing existing clients with an opportunity to write testimonials relating to their individual experience. As a result ABS currently has 11 regular clients signed to pricing plan, whilst attending to other clients for one of sessions
