Biographical Information

Dominique Babini (Argentina). Doctorate in political science (thesis: national information policy) and postgraduate in information science. Active in open access scholarly communications research, projects and advocacy in Latin America and the Caribbean. Coordinator of CLACSO-Latin America Council of Social Science Open Access Program. Contributor to UNESCO-GOAP Global Open Access Portal, and the International Social Science Council Web Resources Section. Previously developed and managed (1998-2013) CLACSO´s Latin America and the Caribbean Social Science Digital Repository, which today has 33.200 texts which receive an average of 850.000 monthly requests. Has coordinated (1991-1995) the International Development Information Network (IDIN) with participation of social science networks from Asia (ADIPA), Africa (CODESRIA), Latin America (CLACSO), Arab countries (AICARDES) and Europe (EADI).
Member of: International Scientific Committee of Redalyc (peer-review open access journals portal with 917 peer-review journals from Iberoamérica) ; Experts Committee of the Argentine National System of Science and Technology Institutional Repositories; International Editorial Advisory Board of "Information Development" (Sage Publications); Communications Committee of SHARE-Shared Access Research Ecosystem.
