Biographical Information
Jason Rutter is a research active academic with international experience and an impressive track record for attracting funding and generating publications.
He has significant multidisciplinary experience of collaborating with national and European teams on projects involving industry, policy and academic users. He has demonstrated effective capabilities in initiating projects including international research teams in addition to academic and training conferences. He has actively pursued policy orientated research and reporting but maintains a strong commitment to high level scientific research and a focus on REF relevant outputs.
Dr Rutter has international research management experience through chairing Economics and Social Science evaluation panels for the European Commission and has recently been invited by the Research Executive Agency to act as the Independent Observer across The Marie Curie Individual Fellowship schemes. Through his research career he has successfully managed academic colleagues, worked closely with university finance and research systems and supervised postgraduate student research.
He is currently employed at the Catholic University of Leuven where he is funded by the European Commission to study the consumption of illegally copied digital media. He also maintains the Digiplay online bibliography of computer games research.
