Biographical Information
I have a B.Sc. in Molecular Sciences and a M.Sc. in Biotechnology by the University of São Paulo. I went to Japan in 2003 to do my Ph.D. with professor Hirohisa Kishino, and after completion I came to Spain to work with professor David Posada in a very dynamic group.
At my Ph.D. I developed a software to detect phylogenetic recombination taking into account the distance between topologies explicitly through a hierarchical Bayesian model. Now I want to apply Bayesian thinking at the genomic scale, where we have multi-gene families and need to extract as much information as possible without neglecting random and systematic errors.
