Biographical Information
Hi. I'm Malo, and I work for the Machine Intelligence Research Institute (MIRI), a non-profit working on making sure that good things happen—rather than bad things (which is a serious possibility)—when machines surpass human levels of intelligence (which may very well happen this century).
When I'm not working for MIRI, I spend most of my time rock climbing (mostly bouldering, sometimes competitively) or reading about AI-risk, cognitive science and rationality, and more tech/science news than I care to admit.
I also spend some time maintaining a web presence for my mom's work in Zambia. Oh, and I wrote an engineering Master's thesis.
