Biographical Information
Mart has participated in a number of R&D projects in the field of educational technology (eg. FP6 IST projects Calibrate and iCamp, FP7 projects IntelLEO and S-team). His main focus in research is conceptual design and analysis of affordances of technology-enhanced learning systems and tools, also implementing ePortfolios for competency management in teachers‘ professional development. Recently he has been working as a pedagogical and technical policy expert for the national technology enhanced learning development programmes in the Republic of Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and also in Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan). He has also been working as a staff trainer in TEL domain on the annual workshops of CEENet (an association of national academic network organisations from 26 Central and Eastern European countries). He has been coordinating several open-source software development projects in CET: e.g. learning management system IVA (a Zope product), educational community portal Koolielu.ee for Estonian teachers (an adaptation of Elgg) etc.
