Biographical Information
Matthias Görges received his MSc degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften Hamburg, Germany in 2005. He obtained his PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, USA in 2010. For the duration of his PhD, Matthias Görges was a graduate fellow in the Anesthesiology Bioengineering Laboratory under the supervision of Professor Dwayne Westenskow.
Currently, Matthias Görges is a post-doctoral fellow for anesthesiology display research in the Electrical and Computer Engineering in Medicine group, a joint research unit of the Pediatric Anesthesiology Department of BC Children's Hospital, and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. His current training is supervised by Professors Guy Dumont and Mark Ansermino.
His research interests are the improvement of patient monitoring alarms, the development of integrated medical displays, and proving decision support tools to nurses in the intensive care unit.
