Biographical Information
Dr. Mihai Nica joined the Department of General Business at University of Central Oklahoma as Assistant Professor of Business in August 2007. He was born in Romania, and has lived for several years in the US. Dr. Nica graduated from the Polytechnic Institute in Timisoara, Romania, in 1986 (B.S./M.S, Mechanical Engineering). After graduation he worked in sales and marketing, and then opened his own business in 1991. In 1995, he obtained a MA in Political Science from Jackson State University. He then went back home and worked as a consultant with several well known international businesses and organizations such as Land O'Lakes, USAID, the World Bank, the European Union, and with the Romanian Government.
He graduated from the Ph.D. Program in Business Administration from the same University in 2007. Dr. Nica is member of the American Economics Association and the Regional Science Association. He has presented papers at several conferences and published articles in the areas of economics and business in such journals as The International Journal of Commerce and Management and Tourist Review. He served as a manuscript reviewer for the Southern Economic Journal. Dr. Nica's research interests include business location theory, economic growth, economic impact studies, and regional economic development.
