I am a Staff Anaesthesiologist at the British Columbia's Children's Hospital in Vancouver, BC, and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Anaesthesia at the Dept. of Anaesthesia, Pharmacology & Therapeutics at the University of British Columbia. My non-clinical areas of interest include clinical, hands-on research and quality assurance.

I went to medical school in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK, 1989-94. Postgraduate anaesthesia training in Durham, Middlesbrough, Liverpool, UK 1996-2005, with ancillary experience in neonatal intensive care. Research training as a Lecturer in Anaesthesia at the Royal Liverpool Children's Hospital, 2001-3, supervised (loosely;-) by Dr. Peter Booker. Fellowship training at BC Children's Hospital in Vancouver, BC, 2004-2005.

My research interests currently include anaesthesia and long QT syndromes, advanced paediatric airway management techniques and the clinical applications of total intravenous anaesthesia in children. I hold research awards from the hospital's Foundation, from the affiliatated Child & Family Research Institute (iACT Cluster) & from the Canadian Anesthesiologists' Society.
