Biographical Information
I’m interested in discourses – “frameworks of thought and action that groups of individuals draw upon in order to speak and interact with one another.” In particular, I’m interested in how discourses articulate subjects and school cultures as objects of technology policies.
The two principle methodological lenses which animate my research are [critical] discourse analysis and Michel Foucault's notion of problematization.
After teaching in the US, Europe, and across Asia, I hope to apply my research to educational policies in British Columbia, Canada. At present this involves a critical engagement with the '21st Century Education' narrative.
