Biographical Information

Dr. Tony Dubendorf has served in various senior executive information systems technical and management positions to include that of Enterprise Security Architect at jabil Circuits, Chief Technologist/Solutions Architect at Getronics/KPN, and Chief Technology Architect for Wireless at Lucent Technologies prior to being the Managing Director of Global Wireless Services within the world's largest commercial hosting environment serving over 4,500 customers in 42 data centers while managing a departmental budget in excess of $60 million. Dr. Dubendorf has also served as the Technical advisor for several Venture Capital firms such as St. Paul Venture Capital and has served on the Board of Directors for several emerging companies such as AirMagnet. Dr. Dubendorf provides expertise in cyber security and threat analysis for industrial SCADA/Process Control systems and has serviced as the Chief Information Security Officer for the eighth largest municipally owned utility.

Dr. Dubendorf has a Ph.D. in Computer Science specializing in Networking Systems where he developed and tested an enhanced mobility model of 3G communications networks providing best practices to close the loop between network operation and network control that resulted in a framework for the adaptive quality of service management for 3G mobile networks. He also serves as a technical advisor for several Doctoral Candidates. Dr. Dubendorf is a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and a Certified Wireless Security Professional (CWSP). He is also the author and contributing author of seven recent books on wireless technologies and information security published by John Wiley & Sons Publishing and Elsevier-Digital Press, numerous academic white papers on secure mobile data technologies and practices.

In the past, Dr. Dubendorf was a Key Note Speaker at the FCC's Telecommunications Certification Body on the topic of MESH Technology & Regulatory Requirements, and speaker at the PTI WiFi Conference on Wireless Security & Privacy. He is an active voting member of the IEEE 802.11, and 802.16 Standards Committees and is active in several of the working groups as well as being a founding Board of Directors Member of the Mobile Health Care Alliance. He also served on the Cybersecurity Initiative Working Group of the Chemical Industry Data Exchange (CIDX) as the Subject Matter Expert in Secure Mobility. Dr. Dubendorf was a member of the FCC’s Network Reliability and Interoperability Council’s (NRIC VI) Focus Group 1B – Subcommittee on Cyber Security. This council received the Grass Roots Award for the development of Cyber Security Best Practices from the President of the United States in 2003.

I am widely published and recognized globally as one of the leading experts and visionaries in my field. I have worked with major corporations and government entities in the planning, design and implementation projects in Mobile Data Technologies including WLAN, MESH, and VoWiFi. I have worked both independently and as a team member when conducting Physical and Security Audits for Utilities, Manufacturing, Telecommunications and other companies for compliance with FERC/NERC, Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPPA, and GLBA. I have worked on the implementation teams for IT Governance around COBIT and ITIL. I am an active voting member of the IEEE 802.11(x), 802.16 and 802.15 Working Groups and Standards Committees as well as being a founding Board of Directors Member of the Mobile Health Care Alliance.
