Medical professionals and patients are confronted with cases that are difficult for one another to understand, but the cause of these difficulties is not just due to the gap between the medical professional’s and patient’s medical knowledge. One cause is the issue of how one individually perceives the illness as the person who is ill. Among the problems that arise from this individual perception of illness, the most important is pain that can only be felt by the ill person. In particular, when the diagnosis is insufficient and the results of the treatment are not seen, the ill person notices the issues caused by this, experiences complicated feelings, and suffers. To improve these conditions, it is important to establish good relationships based on detailed observation of the people in the vicinity and the medical professionals who are dealing with the particulars of the ill person and the illness, along with having the patients and medical professionals understand the meaning and configuration of the individual perception of illness
