Abstract

There is a belief in certain sectors of education that it is unnecessary and too expensive to include CADCAM material in existing engineering courses. This paper attempts to dispel this 'head-in-the-sand' attitude and recommends a way forward for further and higher education to meet the immediate needs of industry, without necessarily requiring a massive dose of capital investment.
