Abstract

Anal cancers are divided into anal and perianal lesions. The most common cell type is squamous which is managed with chemotherapy and radiation. Surgery is reserved for small lesions or salvage after failed chemoradiotherapy. Other tumors are less common and include anal adenocarcinoma, verrucous carcinoma, melanoma, Paget’s disease, gastrointestinal stromal tumors, basal cell carcinoma, and melanoma.
