Abstract

This paper presents a study using Simulink to investigate the response of the voltage transformers to the phenomenon of ferroresonance. In analyzing the behavior of this phenomenon are considered purely electrical variables (currents and voltages). The methodology is based on documentary research, which presents the theoretical principles, causes and effects of this phenomenon and analyze the simulation results generated using Simulink. Different situations are simulated with satisfactory results. Energization and deenergization of the transformer is presented as a critical situation for the emergence of ferroresonance. The influence of the capacitance value and connecting the primary winding of the transformer has been analyzed through different simulations, it being shown that the phenomenon is accentuated when the transformer is connected in delta and the magnitude of the overvoltage and overcurrent depends capacitance value.
