Abstract

Animal waste management studies have been underway at the Montana Agricultural Experiment Station since 1964. This paper briefly describes the results of studies to determine the effectiveness of: aerobic fermentation; anaerobic fermentation; the reclamation of methane gas from anaerobic fermentation; refeeding raw, processed or fractionated waste directly back to livestock; and utilizing the adhesive properties of aerobically stabilized waste.
