ARoS: An Anthropomorphic Robot For Human-Robot Interaction And Coordination Studies
Proceedings of the CONTROLO2008 Conference 8th Portuguese Conference on Automatic Control (2008)
Abstract
This article focus on the construction of an anthropomorphic robot to be used in tasks that involve close human-robot interaction andcoordination. The robot consists of a static torso, an anthropomorphic 7 dofs arm, a dexterous hand, a neck and a stereo vision system. It is able to estimate 3D coordinates of objects, classify some objects and human actions, and to grasp and manipulate objects in a human-like way. As an application we show the robot cooperating with the human in an assembly task in which there is no verbal communication.
