Better than a Netbook [From the Screen of Stone]

by W. Ross Stone
IEEE Antennas and Propagation Magazine ()

Abstract

My wife recently had need of a very compact, lightweight notebook computer for use while traveling. A netbook was an obvious choice. However, in looking at netbooks, it became apparent that one significant tradeoff that most of them make is to sacrifice a standard-size keyboard for a more-compact form factor. For someone who is a touch typist, that is a significant (and frustrating!) sacrifice. We ended up purchasing a Lenovo ThinkPad X120e. This has almost all of the advantages of the smallest practical netbooks, but with the very significant added advantage of a full-size keyboard.
