Abstract

(from the chapter) Emphasizes the strategic importance of building the capacities to learn and the will to change-of the teachers and parents in children's lives. The concern now is that children, to become successful learners and workers in the 21st century, need more. The author discusses current parent and community partnership initiatives and program components using examples from personal experience. The MegaSkills Program is the most commonly discussed.
