Colors and magnitudes for noo stars in M3 have been derived from a combination of photographic and photoelectric techniques. The resulting color-magnitude diagram is qualitatively similar to that of M92 but significant differences are noted. Comparison of the diagram for populations Type I and Type II indicates that the M3 data are not inconsistent with a value of M v = 0.00 for the mean absolute magnitude of the cluster-type Cepheids. The application of an evolutionary theory to the M3 and M92 data gives a time interval of 5 X io 9 years since the formation of the main sequence in these clusters. This may be considered as a measure of the age of globular clusters.
