Abstract

We have been developing a new computa- tional framework for text processing based on systemic functional linguistics. This framework consists of basic data struc- tures for linguistic instance and resource, text processing algorithms and computa- tional tools. It is designed to be used in various kinds of text processing, and three language-based intelligent systems have been developed using this framework. In this paper, we explain the main elements of this computational framework and an example of an application system.
