The insight into the nature of substitutes for true morality, (which appear to be conscious and existentially accepted norm of acting), classification of these substitutes and different forms of deformations of moral sphere caused by them, noticing of some typical substitutes existing in modern society ("substitutes of progressiveness or liberalism"), showing of the positive role of substitutes, which can also include in itself certain objective norms, thus becoming a way for an individual and the society to enter into the world of objective moral values -- all this can be used to give deeper explanation of such problems of classical ethics as: wrong conscience, connection between experience of moral values and virtue, responsibility. It can be also useful to make a critical analysis of moral customs of today's society. (edited)
