Abstract
Changes in the health care environment dictate that the education of nurses shift from task orientation to role orientation. Accordingly, the baccalaureate program at Gwynedd-Mercy College fosters the personal creative development of nursing students and challenges them to use creative thinking in solving nursing problems. This innovative program is offered as one model for developing 21st-century nurses.
