Abstract

The very rapid and uncontrolled development of information resources in Internet is a topic of great concern, particularly for health authorities that are drawing the attention on the dangers the dissemination of publications without a proper quality control may cause. The available literature was reviewed with the aim of identifying the most used criteria to evaluate the resources and web sites. The critical assessment of the information existing in Internet is an unavoidable task, both for professionals and information consumers in the health field. © 2007 2000, Editorial Ciencias Médicas.
